How much should I charge for my hand knitting?
I asked members of several knitting lists how they would price their work and this is what came out.

Tally up:
the cost of the yarn and any notions required (buttons and such) plus
$0.20 per knitted yard of yarn for plain stocking stitch
$0.25 to $0.30 per knitted yard for texture and colorwork
$0.35 per knitted yard for lace, complicated textures and/or colorwork
extra if the yarn is a pain to work with
extra if they want it fast
extra for complicated shaping or finishing
extra for creating the design

How much the "extra" should be is entirely up to you; aggravation factor is usually a good barometer.

A plain stocking stitch, circular, sweater made from an economy yarn and about 40 inches around will tally up to about $300.00.
